Instant Pot Hamburger Soup
Share
Cold weather = soup weather and we wouldn't have it any other way. We've been making this Hamburger Soup for years - it's easy, cheap, and flavorful. We didn't think it could get any easier, but sure as shit the Instant Pot proved us wrong again.
We usually make this dish in the slow cooker on low for hours so we were pretty skeptical when we realized it would only take 8 minutes of pressure cooking (mind blown). We used the Hearty Hamburger Soup recipe from Busy Creating Memories as a guideline for this recipe. We use the Instant Pot Duo 60 7-In-1 6 Quart which was about the same size as our Slow Cooker.
Instant Pot Hamburger Soup
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp onion powder (1 c chopped white onion)
- 2 c chopped celery
- 6 cubes beef bouillon
- 1 can whole kernel corn
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 16 oz can diced tomatoes
- 5 c water
- 1 tsp dried basil
Directions
1. Use saute function on Instant Pot. Brown ground beef. Drain excess fat. Add garlic and onion powder.
2. Add all ingredients except water. Stir. Add water.
3. Press Cancel to stop Sauté. Pressure cook on High 8 Minutes.
4. Natural pressure release 5 minutes, Quick Release remaining pressure.
That’s it. Seriously. Super quick, super easy, super cheap, super filling. You can add more veggies if you like - we use whatever we have on hand. We like to sprinkle cheese on top and serve with garlic toast for dippin!
